I am a landscape and nightscape photographer based in Suffolk, in the heart of East Anglia in England.
I was born in Suffolk, but with an American father and an English mother I spent a good part of my early life moving back and forth between the the United Kingdom and the United States.
I spent the majority of my working life as a professional land use planner in the beautiful Pacific Northwest region of the United States. After I retired in 2018 I took up landscape and nightscape photography, primarily because of my life-long interest in landscapes, both natural and built. I quickly became immersed in the process of planning, taking, editing and printing images of the landscapes near me. I love that photography combines both the creative and the technical. I try to capture the spirit and beauty of the landscapes that I photograph and I believe that beauty can be found in almost anything, if you just look hard enough and with an open mind. I feel strongly that it’s important that we expose ourselves to art, beauty, and the natural world as an antidote to the stresses and strains of everyday life.
